Building Bridges welcomes Karen Hitschke, as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 21, 2024. In her new role based in Geneva, Karen will lead the evolution of the Building Bridges Foundation into its next phase of impact and growth, fostering progress towards a more sustainable financial system.

Karen Hitschke, ehemalige Chief Operating Officer der WHO Foundation, ist ausgebildete Biologin, Investorin, Vorstandsmitglied, Führungskraft und zertifizierter Executive Coach mit über 25 Jahren Erfahrung in den Bereichen Biotechnologie, Risikokapital, Beratung, Sozialunternehmen und Impact Investing. Nach ihrem Biologiestudium absolvierte sie einen MBA am INSEAD in Fontainebleau, Frankreich. Ihre berufliche Laufbahn umfasst vielfältige Positionen im gewinnorientierten und gemeinnützigen Sektor. Karen Hitschke ist derzeit in mehreren Aufsichtsräten und Beratungsfunktionen tätig und ist Vorstandsmitglied, Mitbegründerin und ehemalige Geschäftsführerin von Yunus Social Business Global Initiatives, einer wegweisenden Impact-Investing-Organisation, die Sozialunternehmen in Indien, Ostafrika und Lateinamerika fördert.
