Building Bridges is committed to leveraging finance to accelerate the transition to a global economic model aligned with social and environmental sustainability principles, as articulated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Climate Agreement, and other key international and national frameworks.
Ziel der Stiftung ist es, eine gerechte und nachhaltige Weltwirtschaft zu fördern, indem sowohl öffentliches als auch privates Kapital in wohlstandsschaffende Aktivitäten gelenkt wird, während gleichzeitig das empfindliche Gleichgewicht unseres Planeten wiederhergestellt und bewahrt wird.
Die Stiftung
Building Bridges began in 2019 as a collaborative initiative among diverse stakeholders in Geneva. After four years of successful conferences, the Building Bridges Foundation was officially established in October 2023, providing a permanent home for the conference moving forward. The Foundation aims to drive its mission not only through its flagship annual event but also by fostering engagement and collaboration year-round, leveraging the power of its global community.

Since 2019, Building Bridges aims to shape the global sustainable finance agenda by leveraging the unique ecosystem of international Geneva and Switzerland. At the core of the initiative, launched by Swiss public authorities, the finance community, the United Nations, NGOs, and other international actors, is the recognition that the scale and complexity of the sustainability transition require “building bridges” between private and public stakeholders.
